When creating states, is it best practice to leave the Base state as an unused state? I always use base state for updating things in all other states only. Would be interested to find out how others use this.

Where am I?

@james.counter@zephr.com82 this is an interesting way to go with states. I have to admit, I didn't think of that. I usually keep a separate page (or off-canvas group) with "clean elements" to refer to if needed.  I think I've kept a separate group of elements with states in a design system library (with proper pre-fixes in naming convention ofc) at some point.

All options have some pros & cons and if that approach works for you – that's great! I'm really curious what some of our hyper-users have to say here and what's their best practices are. CC @Meet Shah71 @Ramsés Cabello73
